Bottle Service: Levenswater Spring 34 Gin

Updated: Jul 2, 2020

This Canadian small-batch premium craft gin distilled in Niagara Falls has been collecting awards and accolades from consumers and industry experts alike.

When we hear about a new Canadian-made gin, our ears prick. So when we learn of one which picked up not one, not two, but three prestigious industry awards, you better believe we sit up and take notice. Levenswater Spring 34 Gin – distilled in nearby Niagara Falls – recently took home Double Gold in Bottle Design and Silver in Flavoured/Infused Gin at the SIP Awards, and also took the highest score for a non-European brand in the Compound Gin category at the Gin Guide Awards. The name Levenswater originates from the Dutch word for “Water of Life,” harkening back to the Dutch and Belgian traditions of botanically infusing gin with bold flavours and carefully crafted aromas. While its origins lie in times gone by, present day has also played its hand in shaping this award-winning bottle. The number 34 pertains to the number of botanicals that make up the gin – naturally a secret blend – but one that's inspired by the sights and sounds of Kensington Market and Ontario's farmlands, where Levenswater is produced. The result is an aromatic dry with notes of lavender and rosemary, and a spicy finish, poured from a beautiful vessel that looks more like a perfume bottle than a gin. Levenswater is not yet available at the LCBO but you can order it online.
